Weather Outlook.
Today
Cold but most places dry and bright this afternoon with some sunny spells at times, however some fog lingering in some spots. There is a slight risk of an odd shower on parts of the east coast. Top temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees but colder where fog lingers.

Tonight
Tonight will continue dry, but very cold with widespread severe frost returning and some fog in central and northern areas especially. Lowest temperatures will range zero to -5 degrees – coldest across the midlands and north. A freshening easterly wind will clear frost from southern coastal areas later in the night and also some eastern coastal areas.

Tomorrow
Tomorrow Tuesday will be cloudy and windy. Connaught, Ulster and north and central parts of Leinster will stay mostly dry for daylight hours. However rain arriving on the south coast around dawn will spread slowly northwards through Munster and south Leinster during the day. Some falls of sleet and snow are likely at times inland. Cold top temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees.

Outlook
Tuesday night will begin dry with frost for a time in the north, but rain will spread from the south during the night. The rain may be preceded by snow for a time in the north. Wednesday will be cloudy with further outbreaks of rain, and it’ll be cold with strong northeast winds. Wednesday night will be mainly dry, but very cold with sharp frost developing as northeast winds ease. Thursday will be mostly cloudy again with more heavy rain spreading from the south, again possibly preceded by sleet or snow inland. Easterly winds will be strong and gusty too, with temperatures staying in low single figures.
