Water levels have dropped to just above .5 metres on the gauge following a dry and frosty week. Fishing had been quiet up to yesterday with only a couple of fish reported lost during the week. Derek Keyes had an 8.5lbs fish from the Stone Ditch yesterday on black flying c with silver blade. Two fish were reported today. John Parkinson had a 9lbs fish on purple shrimp from the Wash Stones and George Matier also had a 9lbs fish, on shrimp from the Sea Pool.
There have been heavy showers this evening and the forecast is for cold showery conditions for the week ahead.

Today
Cloudy in many places tonight with scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle. However parts of Munster and south Leinster will tend to be clearer with frost developing here overnight. Lowest temperatures -1 to +3C with light winds.
Tomorrow
Many parts of the country will be dry at first tomorrow morning. Then rain in the northwest will gradually extend to all parts during the day, with clearer weather following on for the afternoon. Highest temperatures 7 to 9C with fresh west to northwest winds.
Outlook
Headline : Cold and unsettled for the rest of the week. From Tuesday to Saturday, inclusive, there will be some, dry intervals, but occasional showers will occur in most areas also, especially on Tuesday and on Wednesday, when showers are likely to be most widespread. Some of the showers will be heavy and of hail, with a risk of thunder and there is also a risk of sleet or snow, mainly over mountains. It will be cold, with daytime temperatures in the range 5 to 8 Celsius and frost will be widespread at night, with a risk of icy patches. Breezy much of the time also.
