After a prolonged lull in the fishing, two fish were taken today. Richard Todd had a 9.5lbs fish from the Meadow on a 1 inch Willie Gunn tube fly, while I had a 13.5lbs fish from Aberdee in the deep water just above the Sand Hole on a black and silver floating Rapalla. The fishing over the past week or more had been quiet with some fish lost, including one lost on fly from the Mill Pool by J. Winters on Tuesday, but no further fish reported.

The Mill Pool This Evening.
Weather Outlook.
Today
Rain and drizzle, heavy at times, will persist this evening and tonight, but will clear from the south later on. Lowest tempratures of 0 to 4C, coldest across Munster and the south Midlands where fog patches will occur.
Tomorrow
Many places will be dry and bright tomorrow with light winds and highest temperatures of 7 to 10C. Rain will linger over Ulster for a short time in the morning, and showery rain will develop across south Munster during the day.
Outlook
FRIDAY NIGHT : Mainly dry. Cold. Winds easing off. Widespread frost, some fog patches. Temperatures down to – 2 to – 4 C in places. SATURDAY : Continuing mainly dry, with light winds. Bright or sunny spells in many areas, highs 5 to 9 C generally – but overnight fog may be slow to clear. SATURDAY NIGHT : Again, mainly or completely dry, variable cloud cover. Cold, with frost and/or fog in places. SUNDAY, MONDAY : Becoming windy – strengthening southeasterly winds, making it feel chilly at times (though largely preventing frost on Sunday night). Wet weather spreading from the Atlantic to affect much of Munster and Connacht at times, with heavy falls of rain possible in the southwest – but at this stage, looks unlikely to make much further progress eastwards, so other areas should stay largely or completely dry.
