Still Quiet

28 January 2010

Fishing has remained very quiet over the past week with no further fish reported. The Mill Pool This Morning.

Weather Outlook.

Today
Showery outbreaks of rain in the north and west becoming persistent this evening, then spreading south to affect all areas early tonight. However, clearer conditions with isolated showers will develop in northern counties before morning. Turning colder overnight but strengthening, northwest to north winds will prevent frost; lowest temperatures 1 to 5 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow
During Friday, scattered rain or hail showers will affect northern and western counties, some heavy near coasts. However, the rest of the country will be mainly dry with sunny spells. Fresh to strong, northwest to north winds will make it feel rather cold but winds will moderate in the evening. Highest temperatures 4 to 7 degrees Celsius.

Outlook
Outlook is for cold weather through the weekend but becoming less cold during the early days of next week. Some scattered wintry showers in places on Friday night, prolonged in some western and southwestern areas. Very cold with overnight lows of 0 to -3 degrees with frost and icy stretches likely. Some rain or sleet in some western counties for a time Saturday but brighter and drier elsewhere with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers mostly confined to northern areas. Wintry showers of hail or sleet on Sunday will be largely confined to northern areas with most other parts cold and dry with sunny spells. Both Saturday night and Sunday night will be frosty through frost may well clear from western areas by Monday morning. Becoming less cold during Monday and mostly dry and bright, though there could be some rain on parts of the west coast.
