Water levels have risen to above 0.6 metres on the gauge and water and air temperatures are both well up. Today was a mild, bright Spring day but despite the fresh water and plenty of anglers out no fresh fish were reported. One fish was reported lost on fly from the corner of the Blackwater.
Tomorrow is forecast mild and mainly dry with some light showers in the north west.

Weather Outlook.
Today
Cold this evening and overnight. Some heavy rain and hail showers, these mainly over Connacht, Ulster, and parts of north Leinster, with some local thunder. Mainly dry elsewhere. Windy for a time, with strong south to southwest winds, but these easing later. Lowest temperatures zero to plus 4 C., with a slight to sharp frost and some icy patches.
Tomorrow
Tomorrow Sunday, will be misty and cloudy along the Atlantic Seaboard, and over much of Connacht and west Ulster. Some light rain and drizzle at times, mainly in the north and west. But it will be drier and brighter elsewhere, with a little hazy sunshine – best over east Munster and south Leinster. Highest temperatures 6 to 9 Celsius, in a moderate to fresh southwest breeze.
Outlook
Sunday night will be generally dry with clear spells; as southwest winds moderate, it will turn cold and frosty with some icy patches possibly developing inland. Monday will be dry with plenty of sunshine and light breezes but it will remain rather cool; frost, and the risk of ice, will return to many inland areas on Monday night and some fog patches may form also. Tuesday will be dry and bright much of the time but, as southeasterly winds freshen, outbreaks of rain will spread to Munster and Connaught by evening. The rain will extend to Leinster and Ulster on Tuesday night and it will remain breezy everywhere. Rain will die out in most places during Wednesday but may linger for a time in eastern parts of Ulster and Leinster; winds will slacken generally but it will remain cool and mostly cloudy.
