Water levels have dropped further to below 0.4 metres on the gauge. There are some fish running but a rise in water levels would greatly improve fishing prospects. On Friday T. Wolz had an 8lbs fish on toby on Lough Melvin, J. A tkinson had a 4lbs fish on a teal, blue and silver from the Sea Pools, I. Doherty had a 5.5lbs fish on a #10 Cascade from Corry Clay, released. On Saturday J.Gray had a 5.5lbs fish on a #10 Ally shrimp double from the Black Hole, C. Todd had a 6lbs fish on prawn from the Sea Pools. On Sunday G. Morrow had a 4lbs grilse from Stakeys on prawn, T. Carson had a 6lbs fish on Rapalla from the Wash Stones and lost a fish this morning, Tuesday on fly from Brineys.
More unsettled and wetter weather is forecast from Wednesday night which will hopefully bring a much needed rise in water levels.

Weather Outlook.
Today
After a frosty start, cloud will increase and showers will break out in many places by afternoon. Occasional heavy showers will occur and isolated thunderstorms will break out locally. However, the showers will tend to die out later in the evening. Staying rather cool today, with light to moderate north to northwest breezes; highest temperatures just 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.
Tonight
Tonight, any showers will become confined to coastal districts of the north or west, and clear periods will develop widely. Northerly breezes will slacken and it will turn rather cold; lowest temperatures +4 to -1 degrees Celsius, resulting in widespread slight to sharp ground frost inland.
Tomorrow
Wednesday will be another rather cool day with light to moderate, northerly breezes. There will be sunny spells in all areas but scattered showers will break out for a time, some heavy in the east and southeast. Highest temperatures 9 to 11 degrees Celsius.
Outlook
Wednesday night will be mostly dry, clear and cold, with ground frost returning to many inland locations as winds slacken. Early on Thursday morning, outbreaks of rain will arrive in the northwest and west. The rain will extend eastwards during the day, although eastern counties should remain dry until early afternoon. Southerly winds will freshen ahead of the rain and it will feel cool. Later Thursday, a clearance to isolated showers will come in to the west and this clearance will spread to all areas overnight as winds veer northwesterly, light to moderate. Friday and Saturday will be bright, cool days with moderate, northwest to west breezes and scattered showers; the showers are likely to be more frequent and perhaps locally heavy during Friday. At night, it will be mainly dry with clear spells but frost will only occur in sheltered places.
