Fishing during the week was very quiet with reports of only a couple of grilse. Two anglers managed to buck the trend and register impressive catches. Rory Morrin had 4 fish on Friday, keeping his first a 5 pounder and going on to release a further 3 fish of 7, 8 and 9lbs. All the fish were taken on a #10 green butt Cascade from the Black Hole and Corry Clay. On Saturday veteran angler Brian Mc Evoy also recorded 4 fish, releasing all four. The fish were taken from Briney’s Pool, the Two Islands and the Flagstones.
One further fish was reported on Saturday, Thomas Colgan had a 5lbs grilse from the Sea Pool on flying c and today Sunday one fish was confirmed at time of writing, Chris Mc Daid had a 4lbs grilse on a green butt Cascade from the Mill Pool.
Water levels have dropped below 0.5 metres and some fresh water would be welcome. The weather looks set to remain mild and mainly dry until at least midweek.
