Water levels have dropped below .4 metres on the gauge which is the lowest spring level for many years. The weather remains dry but it has become noticably milder with water temperatures up to 9c today. Few rods were out during the week. Ryan Mc Knight reported a fish from the Island Pool, opposite the cattle shed on Tuesday, on a yellow shrimp fly. Derek Glynn had a fresh run sea liced fish of 7lbs this afternoon from the corner of the Blackwater on flying c.
The weather looks set to remain mild with some rain forcast for later in the week.

Weather Outlook.
Today
Mostly cloudy today, though some sunny spells will gradually break through. Many areas dry, though there will be some patchy drizzle in the south for a time, with a few showers, mainly across Ulster and Connacht. Highest temperatures 8 to 11 degrees, with light to moderate northwest winds.
Tonight
Most areas dry tonight with some clear spells – just a few showers in the north. Lowest temperatures 2 to 6 degrees, with a slight frost, and mainly light northwest breezes.
Tomorrow
Apart from a few showers, mainly in the north and west, tomorrow will be dry with more in the way of sunny spells. Highest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees, with mainly moderate northwest breezes.
Outlook
The weather will continue to remain dry for Monday and Tuesday with good sunny spells both days. There will be a slight rise in temperatures on Tuesday as the winds turn to a more southerly direction; early afternoon temperatures on Tuesday will reach values around 13C over parts of Munster and south Leinster and a degree or so less further north. This trend towards milder weather will continue into Wednesday which is St Patrick’s Day. But there is a good chance that the weather for the national holiday may not remain totally dry. A weather front is expected to bring some rain, although amounts of rain will generally be fairly light. Thursday will be dry and sunny and one of the mildest days of the year so far, with temperatures near 14C in the south of the country. More generall rain is expected next Friday but the weather is set to become settled again towards next weekend.
